An exceptional communicator with a 30 year proven track record of successful marketing and advertising initiatives, Elwanda Edwards joined the Louws Management team in December 2005 as an Executive Trainer specializing in Strategic Planning and Management/Supervisory skills training.
Her specialty has and still is “managing the most difficult” clients and staffs and has built her reputation based on an enviable reputation of never having been asked off a piece of business (that we know of anyway).
In addition to her training responsibilities she is currently engaged as interim CMO for one of the most luxury resorts in Texas, Lake Austin.
Agency Side Experience:
Prior to joining Louws, Elwanda was a Partner at TracyLocke, a full-service global brand activation network and marketing innovation company in Dallas, Texas. As General Manager she oversaw the operation of its Dallas office with 200+ employees. She demonstrated her ability to exceed revenue goals, mentor account teams and build brands. During her tenure TracyLocke achieved the highest revenue and profitability in the Agency’s history and was also selected as one of the city’s “best places to work” by the Dallas Business Journal.
In 2001 Elwanda led TracyLocke’s creation of The Launch Point, a new product innovation division providing new product and brand development, line extensions and new positioning strategies for major blue chip clients including Pepsi, Mountain Dew, BeringerBlass Wine Estates, Hasbro Toys, 7-Eleven, Yum!Inc., Brown-Forman and many more. Drawing on her extensive background in brand building and revitalization, she developed the proprietary Launch Point process for consumer testing, strategic positioning and creating new brand bundles—logo, naming and packaging design. Her efforts helped The Launch Point achieve remarkable success – increasing division revenue yearly by 100% over the first three years.
Elwanda began her marketing career at RivesCarlberg in Houston, and then joined The Richards Group in Dallas, where she specialized in financial accounts. Her first seven years at TracyLocke followed, during which she became an officer of the company, leading businesses in the retail, banking and publishing arenas.
Client Side Experience:
She left TracyLocke to accept the position of Marketing Director with Boy Scouts of America, the largest youth organization in the free world. At BSA she was responsible for all national marketing efforts, including relationships with multiple advertising and public relations firms. During her tenure BSA launched its first paid advertising campaign resulting in a significant increase in new membership.
Elwanda holds both a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Communications; Radio/Television/Film and Theater from Stephen F. Austin University in Texas, where she was a Scholarship Recipient and winner of national awards in Oratory and Debate.
On a personal note:
She is a twin, grew up in Texas from whence she has never strayed, has published an instructional tape of playing golf, has competed in hunter jumping and is very engaged in her local community affairs.
